Very true. The information I've received over the past few days
indicates that many of these details have indeed been decided.
For example, it is my understanding that a water-based protest in front
of the House of Commons is going to happen. The planned date is 16
January. Bad time of year, I know, but it provides the best chance to
capitalise on boats being at the London Boat Show.
The BMF will persuade their members to bring boats out and take them up
to the Palace. Tide times dicate the show will be there circa 11.15am on
that day. Four entrances to the Thames (Brentford, Limehouse, Royal
Docks and Teddington) all have 'commodores' now in place and planning
for heavy traffic.
I understand that this action has has been endorsed by all the main user
groups - IWA, NABO, RYA, RBOA, DBA, Thames -based groups, AWCC, etc
as well as the BMF.
Significant, maybe even more eye-catching follow-up actions are planned,
more on this later. Probably when I've finished the outline of a plan I
am working on that will allow ALL waterways enthusiasts to support these
major campaigns.
Cheers..
