>Mike The Treasury has said it is going to consult extensively with boaters and the industry about transition arrangements. I would expect the questions you raise will come up during that process. The problem is much worse in France, where most of the waterway-side refuellers stock only red, which they sell to the commercial craft. As a result, it can be very hard to find white for a pleasure craft there (VNF at Conde kindly brought me 50 litres in cans from a local service station in its own truck when I seemed likely to run out!). However, there just isn't the commercial boat traffic in UK, so there seems little reason for suppliers not to switch to white. Adrian Adrian Stott 07956-299966
