A simplistic view I know, but........ Adrian said ' There will be ten <moorings> created nearby for every one closed.' But will the one space left on-line be filled by a boat whose keeper pays no money to BW at all? There will be plenty of space freed up for them! There seem to be increasing lines of these on our travels, and they aren't going to pootle off into Marinas. Indeed, one wonders how many boat owners who can just about manage to pay their share will be priced out of the market yet will retain places on the water. I choose not to use the word 'boaters' as some of them are primarily dwellers, with little interest in the maintenance or heritage of the system, they could easily become water-squatters because they have nowhere else to go.
A thought, if housing benefit covers the fees of some moorers, is there an upper limit that councils will pay, does the concept of fair rent agreement come into play if it's only the space a council pays for? Megapixie Nb politicallynaive
