The walk boards on the top gates at Bosley did not feature on new gates fitted
in the early seventies and gradually we lost them all. In a similar way we lost
the landing stages from the bottom of the locks and also the stout wooden
fendering. I beleive some of latter two items have now been replaced. I dont
know how BW got away with these cost cutting measures as the whole flight is
listed. Enjoy my home canal and be certain to go to Bugswoth on the Peak
Forest, nice quite mooring and food and beer at the Navigation have yet to
dissapoint. Enjoy! the best is yet to come.Chris.KP
