It wasn't the critics but the criticized who formed  new group.  There were 
other motives as well, which I'm replying to Peter about off-list.

And I don't agree with Steve  -  there are very few people active on the 
list he's talking about (if he and I are talking about the same one, which I 
think we are) who don't post to at least one of (a) this list (b) the Cutweb 
list or (c) uk.rec.waterways.
