Hi, Ron and Brian

Thanks for your comments, from what I can find it requires 12 volt DC, but the
problem now seems to be that it has a 4 pin connector with 2 posotive pins and
2 negative, I rang the help line and asked if it could be connected direct to
my 12 volt system and they said it shouldn't be a problem, however i can't
fiond one of these 4 pin plugs anywhere or a suitable ready made lead with a 4
pin plug ? any suggestions, oh by the way my invertor is one of the 300 watt
units that Maplins were selling for £19.99 about a year ago any thoughts on
these would also be welcome

Brian

Tricky. Your 12V supply probably gives 12.0V. You boat will do 14.4ish
down to 11ish. You need to know what you TV really wants in terms of
voltage stability. I assume the 12V from the power supply is DC and not
AC - one of the original reasons for having 50 lines on a TV is that it was
easy to use the mains frequency to generate the picture (and that's why
there are 60 lines in the US) - having said that, it's not so important as
  it used to be.
