On that score, I quite see the need to time the passage up the Hundred
Foot tide wise, but according to the info sheet posted on both EA and
IWA sites, the minimum headroom at the lowest bridge is 2.4 metres at
High Water Springs. Since the clearance under some of the bridges
around Upwell is 2.1 metres, it doesn't sound as though a narrowboat
that's made it through the Middle Level is going to have air draught
problems on the Hundred Foot, unless there's so much fresh coming down
the levels are well up above the average.
OK, the Gt Ouse is closed with an SSA atm, but hopefully, (please?)
that will have disbursed by the beginning of August. Mind you, there's
a forecast of another one to two inches of rain for the weekend, so all
bets for the Nene may be off again.
Next year, please can we have the National somewhere dead easy to get
to, just, like, you know, for a change maybe?
