Dear all

I hope it wasn't that much of a shock! I'm sad to be casting the BW
ropes off mainly because I won't be able to contribute and help you
out (or argue, depending on your point of view!) from an official
capacity in the future. But that's not to say I can't help
out 'unofficially' is it??! I intnd to stick around, although
bearing in mind once upon a time a certain contributor felt that as a
BW employee I shouldn't even be 'here', if anyone's got any
objections let's hear them now :->

You've been very kind in what you're written regarding my departure.
I didn't expect the comments to the degree that they've been made and
it's both cheered and saddened me in equal measure. frankly. It's
always been a complete pleasure to contribute here and elsewhere,
made very easy because I have a strong personal belief in the
waterways, their history, their participants and their future.

Just to clear one small matter up (Sue), I 'jumped' and certainly
wasn't 'pushed'. And no, this isn't to spend more time with my
family either. With a new mouth to feed it's hardly the best time to
leave a permanent job. My decision was taken a little while ago, and
while you can speculate until the cows come home, I will simply say
that I don't feel I can help BW anymore at this current time.

But since I don't have anything bigger and better to go to job wise
right now, if there's someone or something out there who'd appreciate
my professional help, please put them in touch. Waterways-related
would be great, but so would anything else so long as I can use my
skills to best effect and hopefully continue what I've been doing for
a few years now. By the way, while those skills are as a
professional communicator, they are not based on any skills that
Monty Pannesar may have, contrary to reports in recent waterways
press articles....

My personal email address is full first and second name interspersed
with a dot at googlemail.com.

Very best wishes, Eugene
