It's pretty busy all the way through Fradley to Derwent Mouth. And with a 585-berth marina coming on stream at Willington, and other developments nearby (e.g. Streethay Farm), it's not going to get any quieter. I've occasionally wondered aloud about the possibility of building short bypass canals for some of the congestion spots (e.g. Fradley, Derwent Mouth), a bit like the Lapworth Link - I'm sure even a non-boaty waterway manager would be able to see the potential of funding that through canalside development. But older and wiser WW heads than me argue that the problems would be solved at Derwent Mouth and Kegworth Deep if BW were to just put the paddles back to their non-messed- around state. Richard
