Wouldn't work. The extra time most steerers now require to manoeuvre two narrow boats into a broad lock is, by observtion, far more than any alleged saving. Of course, there is probably no saving if your statistic is "minutes/m2 of floorspace. However, it might work if you insisted that the combined length of any two narrow boats be shorter than 22 m, then any two could fit into one narrow lock. Adrian Adrian Stott 07956-299966
