Interestingly, there was an item on our local news last night about this
very topic.  It was stated that if long distance haulers were fitted with
speed limiters set for 105 kph [about 65 mph], the companies would save
about $8000 [about 4,000 GBP] per year per truck on the cost of diesel
fuel.  Diesel costs about $1.06/53p per litre over here.

One trucker interviewed agreed, but said that he would still rather have the
capability to put his foot down under certain circumstances to get himself
and his rig out of difficulty.
