The rain just after we moored last night didn't last long, however we
had very heavy rain overnight through until about 9 30 this morning. The
mooring was quite noisy with the railway running right beside the towing
path and Bornville station opposite us. I expected the trains to stop
running about 10 30pm. but they were going through all night.
We pushed off about 10 30am. and met several boats on our short trip to
Birmingham, there were mooring spaces at "Holiday Wharf" opposite where
they are building The Cube http://www.thecubeiscoming.com but we carried
on to see who was about in the city going down to Cambrian Wharf and
then to Icknield Port returning to moor Holiday Wharf via the Oozells
Street loop at 1330.
On our way through Birmingham we met several of the boats we will be
spending the next few days with. Since we have been in the city we have
had very mixed weather from sun the heavy rain and strong winds, I felt
sorry for all the people queuing to get into Sea World, they must have
got quite wet.
