Sorry Tony but that is missing the point. Most towpath users that I know
do not object to the cyclists wearing Lycra or even owning expensive
bikes, whether licensed or not. What we do object to is the speed that
they travel at and their total lack of concern for other users,
especially the very young and the elderly.
On this thread in general, I have been banging on about this subject for
what seems like years and have largely been ignored, so I presumed it
was only a problem in my local area. I am now greatly heartened to see
that this subject is now getting wider recognition. Obviously the curse
of the 'towpath racetrack' is spreading!
