Certainly the water outflows from Nuclear stations attract fish as they are
warmer than the rest of the sea/river. (Or so I am told by fishermen.) One
assumes this heat does increase temperatures as does that given off by
conventional coal/gas stations.

Given the French experience of exporting electricity due in good part to their
investment in nuclear stations I wish we went this way rather than littering
our landscapes with inefficient windmills.

Unfortunately it suits the government to encourage such 'Eco' things to the
point that though there is massive local opposition it is expected that a new
wind farm will be built near Market Drayton by (you may guess) a foreign owned
firm, who will benefit from the gelt while not having to suffer a view of their
creations on the skyline. (We think they will be visible at least from Tyrley
to Chelmondeston.

Is there any data on the impact of conventional or nuclear power
stations on downwind temperatures? Certainly the sea off Wylfa was/is
warmer than ambient.

Myself, I'm actually a pessimist about climate change - the political
will is not there to do enough about it quickly enough to have much
impact, even if the currently accepted theories are correct (and I
don't want to get into all that again!).

But that's OK, because the nuclear winter following an exchange
between Israel and Iran or Pakistan and India will make the issue
irrelevant :-{{
