Back in May I posted a likely explanation as to why this happens.  
There's no real mystery - trying to edit HTML-formatted emails in a  
deficient email client ("the system" as you put it) is the basic  
problem. So, doing something about it means installing and using a  
different email client - something you may find easier to do on your  
own PC as opposed to someone else's!
