No - It's because I do it at work.

I recognise the dangers of becoming a terrible old bore and pedant -
so try not to do it the rest of the time. But if someone asks a
question, I can't resist. You start with syntax, and soon you're
mainlining subordinate clauses.

My defence for starting all of this is that I was actually trying to
be helpful (and on topic) when I originally pointed out that putting
very long sentences in a press release quote was not a good idea. It
was good news, but that would have kept it quiet.
