I had this problem on Idleness on the JP3  decided it was to much aggro 
to get a brammer belt and moved the alternator forward 3 inches and used 
the flywheel as the pulley it  increased the charge rate by 100% as it 
was now on a 12:1 pulley ratio rather than a 4:1.
Best thing I ever did..........
