Found it, not a press release, the BWAF Licensing Sub-group Report:
4.6. Some 10% of boats are recorded as not having a permanent mooring
and not being trailed
boats. BW therefore designates these by default as continuous cruisers.
The same report says there's a total of 30k licensed boats, so about
3,000 CCs (inc CMs, obviously)
Since Sally Ash was on that sub-group, presumably the figures came
from her and are what an FOI would generate, unless you've reason to
believe Sally was being sparing with the actualité, John?
