I also rekon that the Verdin Arms (Minshull Vernon- walkable from the cut)) could be pretty soon following the closure trend. It is an outpost of the Robies (Stockport) network - so it may be spared as a sort of loss leader. The Badger does remain closed. Various committees meet and discuss various plans - so the matter is still not finally dead. Long term - I remain optimistic. There is shorter term good news on the horizon however ! The new marina cafe/restuarant(next door) is scheduled to become licenced to sell intoxicating liquors very soon. They already have a fag machine (;-( I can just about stagger there and back without much trouble (;-) Regards Pete www.thecanalshop.com
