I've considered three firms and got suggested sizes and prices from
all three.

1. Jooren in Holland. Very expensive but with an excellent reputation
for getting the sizing right and a prop that doesn't sing. The price
problem is partially a function of the terrible pound/euro exchange
rate at the moment. Superb customer service on the choice of prop
which was completed in one morning in a flurry of e-mails following
an instant response to my first enquiry.

2. FAL props in Scotland. Reasonable price. Good service on
responding to the enquiry, not as fast as Jooren but still very
acceptable.

3. Crowther. Failed to respond to a web-site enquiry although when I
phoned they said that they were just about to respond (about a week's
delay between request and phoning). Then gave me a recommendation
during that phone call. Cheapest price but only by a little from FAL.
Suggested that the prop shaft standard sizing was on the limit
depending on the overhang between teh back bearing and the prop.

The big problem is that having asked three companies I have three
fairly wildly differing sizes recommended. I know it's not an exact
science but my gut feeling (and the recommendation of my French boat
repair yard) suggest that Jooren are best for sizing, but they are
more than twice the price of the UK firms.
