We met a chap on a wide beam going up the Thames, he should have been
going to France, but with his set up he was hard pushed to go against
the Thames flow let alone cross the channel and that was by a builder
who had done lots of wide beams for France and such like. When the chap
first complained he was told it was because he was on a canal and not
enough water round the prop, it would be fine in open waters. When he
left Limehouse he didn't agree with them and was waiting for the
builder to come on board and give his opinion.
