Just type "top loading washing machine"into google and you will find a large selection. The footprint of such a machine is much smaller than a front loader and I would think much easier to use on a smaller boat.CKP

I heard a rumour some company was planning to start making them again. Anyone heard anything similar? To save energy heating the water and to reduce the length of the washing cycle, we fill the machine with correct amount of hot water using a bucket from the thermatically controlled hot water tap supplying the bath and shower. We have be using this method for some years with no problems. So if you have a ready supply of hot water via a back boiler or calorifier and a limited amount of electrical energy, use it.
