I nearly did that once on a semi brad. I lifted the floor to get to the 
engine an saw it was supported on to box sections, looking down the box 
sections I could see water. It turned out they were the drains that the 
deck gutters fed into and went straight through the base plate. Had I 
drilled my holes to let the water out I would let more in.
