Phil good to hear from you

The boat is a semi trad with the engine in a totally separate compatment. The
water appears clean and there is a little surface rust visible on teh base
plate. I'm told the water ot there when a calorifier failed. The owners paid
a local boatyard (one I know and HATE with a passion) to fix it for them ( I've
seen the invoice)back in November. The boatyard told them that the water would
dissapear in time. I beleive teh owners acted in good faith and they were
roaylly ripped off by the boatyard. Trouble is I don't know if the problem was
really fixed or the boatyard was just too idel tovac out the spill annd just
flannelled the owners.

SO what now , I'm considering going back to teh boat and mopping it out myself
and then going back in a week or so to see if more water has appeared.

I'm worried that with water hanging around under the floor that long that
A :we cant dry the conrete slab balast out and
B : the wooden undefloor structure has got damp and may start to rot
C : The problem may not have been fixed afetr all.

Its otherwise a nice boat that meets our requirements - I'm loth to walk away

Regards

Terry
