Good idea of mopping up and coming back to take a look a week later.
Ideally, do this unannounced and open it up and have a sniff for smelly air.
The chances are itÂ’ll smell like a piece of rotten sh*t. At least you'll
know what you are dealing with then.

We had a small leak last year which went unnoticed for a week or so and it
still stinks. Apparently it's the ply that holds the smell. I'm hoping this
year, it will dry out properly and the smell will dissipate.

Good luck,

Thanks Tony - most helpful

We couldn't smell anything either in the boat or in the bilge. But the boat
was opened up when we got there.

As I said to Phil I beleive the water came from a leaking calorifier and teh
owners paid a boatyard to fix it. However I have no confidence in the yard
they chose .
