Since Bruce mentions me, it's true, I certainly wouldn't rule out mooring 
there. I recognise the situation must have been most distressing for Alan and 
his mother, but in context it was a minor incident, the sort of thing kids have 
done for years. 

More generally I doubt the usefulness of these sort of postings; they tend to 
stigmatise areas and pander to people's fears.

As I have said before, I once got broken into outside the Toll House at 
Braunston. Does this mean we should be cautious mooring in Braunston? Well, yes 
actually. We should be cautious of mooring everywhere. It's the world we live 
in.

It's a fairly obvious risk area; sorry to hear you had trouble. OTOH,  
my first attack of angina was triggered by kids ringing the doorbell  
and running away, so I'm afraid it's not confined to the cut, but is  
a part of life, and always has been.

We often tie in that area for shopping purposes, but go on into the  
countryside for overnight mooring.

Justice, I'm sure would stay there overnight, so YMMV ;-))
