Well, the Upper Trent anyway.

We've just come down the Soar, no real probs, hung about at Zouch
over the weekend to make sure it wasn't going to get out of hand
after the rain.

It was well down this morning, so we carried on down to Redhill, and
guess what, the red light's on, the Trent is closed.

The guides say "Ring Newark for advice" so I did, and got told "Yes,
it went into flood last night, No, I don't know how long it will be
like that, sorry."

So we're tied just below Redhill Flood Lock, and the level is sinking
slowly (about four inches since midday).

Can anyone tell me if the Tent is prone to stay up for long periods
at this time of year, or is there anywhere else I can ring for advice?

We're not at risk here, but I need to decide whether to wind and
return to Kegworth for supplies, or if I'm likely to be able to get
through to Nott'nham Sainsbury's in the near future.

Oh, and one rant more: was there a stoppage notice for the Upper
Trent today? Was there chookie! If there had been, we'd have sat
tight at Kegworth, of course.

All advice gratefully received

Go steady, but keep going, but not on the flooded Trent.
