Thanks to all for advice on the Llangollen a few weeks ago. It's not been too shallow (yet) though Whitehouse Tunnel took longer to traverse than my last journey though Braunston Tunnel due to the reverse flow! Chirk was fine: just enough time to step off and take a few photos :-)
I'm off for the final push now from just short of Froncysyllte up to Llangollen and have stuck the webcam on if anyone is bored/interested. The sun is trying to shine so it should stay on though if it rains I'll have to put it away http://www.bream.org/webcam. Steve NB Bream
