I switched to what is now Towergate maybe 15 years ago.  Each year at
renewal time, I compare prices (premiums), and Towergate always wins
(large NCB).  

Also, it is willing to adjust the policy (e.g. cruising range) as
required.  e.g. I've added some tidal to mine.  And it will take the
skipper's experience into account for e.g. Bristol-Gloucester.
