Day 10 - Marlow to Medmenham via Maidenhead Last night as I sat writing the Day 9 report I was enchanted by the sight of an adult grebe feeding a young'un in response to plaintive junior grebe calls. At 05:30 today when the calls were resumed I was less enchanted. Still, managed a lie-in and, as we had allowed an adjoining cruiser to share our mooring pins [they've just bought the boat and it came pinless] we waited until a civilised 10:45 before casting off. A few short lock queues - principally at Boulters - but we made our rendezvous with Adam [our son] just below Boulters at 13:40. Stayed on the rather uninviting moorings there [concrete strip below a roadside embankment] for an hour for lunch then did a 'U' turn around an island and headed back upstream. Cliveden Deep is a magnificent spectacle, nicely framed today by db Janna and nb Draco on the left bank. Gloriously sunny afternoon and we wended our way by 19:35 to the big field just above Medmendam where for a fiver you can moor for the night and have barbie [you have to bring your own barbie]. All rather pleasant, and much too nice to file a trip report on the day.
