<Big Snip> I've done just the same with my domain. As it happens even without any spam filtering beyond the ISPs basics (Freeola BTW) I don't get an excess of Spam on either the mailing list or shopping addresses. What I do get is largely handled cleanly by Outlook. There are other advantages of having multiple addresses - I have one set up just for picking up on the mobile so I can forward stuff to it that I may want (e.g. hotel booking confirmations), and I set a separate one up for jobs as some of the jobsearch sites are notorious for spam mails.
