The last time I looked at the '3' coverage along the K&A it was marked
down as poor reception outdoors and non-existent indoors. Right now I'm
using my dongle inside 'Wyrd', with it resting against one of the
portholes :-)

I've had to use a second dongle, albeit with a slowish connection, from
Vodafone - I was lucky enough to manage to obtain one of the last of the
PAYG versions - the type which doesn't have a time restriction on using
up the data allowance; great value as I've been using it since November
last year and have only spent about £4.00 out of the 1Gig/£15.00 it came
with (the total cost of about £36.50 included 15 quid's worth of use!)
When I asked the Crawley store if the offer was still on I was told that
it had finished, the manager overheard the conversation - after ejecting
a very aggressive guy with some form of complaint and a belly full of
beer - and dived into a drawer at the back where he then found the last
unsold one and sold it to me :-))>>

I'm seriously considering dumping my '3' contract when it ends in the
autumn, as they have been very unsympathetic about the fact I couldn't
use it for most of my time on the K&A - despite spending (wasting!)
£15.00 a month for what has, mainly, been a complete waste of space. I
might keep the phone though as I get 300 extra free minutes when I speak
to my wife (she is using my old '3' phone with a PAYG SIM and so she
also gets a load of free minutes when she calls me - I think she pays
about a tenner every 90 days - which means that the total '3' mobile
phone deal becomes very reasonable :-))>>
