Alan, that's interesting news as I'll be heading up the GU soon.

You know, with all the help you have given me over the last 12 months I 
reckon I must owe you at least half a pint of beer by now;  it would be 
a real shame if I actually passed you outside of normal licensing hours 
(if such a time still exists now-a-days) .. LOL!

Returning to the subject - I think the problem is less about upgrading 
their cells and more to do with those areas of the country which are 
presently *without* cells (and I think this probably applies to all the 
mobile phone/internet service suppliers and not just '3'.) :-(

I've never quite understood why more use hasn't been made of the rail 
networks - all those masts and generators along the lines must be well 
underused and I can't see many NIMBYs objecting (if they ever even 
notice a few more aerials growing on the masts which are already there) 
either. With the close proximity of the canal/rail networks in many 
parts of the country it would be a real boon for us <g>!
