MySQL still has free opensource database options. Cache never has, and never will. I do not know of MySQL gouging for support. In fact, I can go to any number of websites and get MySQL support and expertise for free. Many developer websites provide information to other developers for free. Cache does not have this, probably because there is a shortage of developers for that technology. >> Intersystems boasts the fastest database speeds, >That is interesting... so did MySQl. Do we have a pattern here? The bottom line is this - when it comes to speed, they are all pretty much going to find a test that "they are the best" in... I will give credit where credit is do.. Cache is very reliable, we had it on a Redhat box running for over a year and a half with no reboots... but I can say the same for MySQL. The difference is we paid nothing for MySQL, and over 256,000 for cache... oh and we had to pay over 60K a year in support for Cache. And if I have a question regarding MySQL, I can post a message on one thousands of websites and get about 50 answers in 15 minutes... with Cache... well, go ahead and pay intersystems for an answer, and that answer is usually "we will address that issue in the future".
