My lazy jacks go up in the spring and down in the fall. Once up I don't do anything to them. My sail cover works fine since the snaps fall in between the jack lines so I can put it on tuck it around the sail and snap it under the boom. You can see a picture of that on my website. The least amount of pulling down, tying back and reconfiguring I have to do the better - anything that takes more than 10 minutes of my time before I'm ready to go sailing is way too long.
