Bill; I just did this last year. We went from a C22 to a C27. I had it trucked 450 miles from Muskegon, Mi. to L. Simcoe, north of Toronto. I had three estimates all the same price of $2495. US company was in US$, Cdn. in Cdn$. I finally tried one that the broker said wasn't bad. Asked if he could do the job for $2000 Cdn. He accepted the offer. He even cleared it through customs for me so I didn't have to pay a broker to do that. He paid the tax and just added that to my bill, with no extra charge. I would check with your local brokerage to see who they recommend. And don't be afraid to negotiate. I had to pay extra for mast step and unstep, and I paid for load/unload with travel lift.
Good luck.

Subject: catalina27-talk: Trucking a C27

We're in the market to move up from our C22 to either a C27 or C30 and we're located in upstate New York. So far the boats we're interested in are in New England or around the Chesapeake. Since I can't commit the time to deliver a boat the way I'd like to, does anyone on the list have any experience shipping a C27 in this general area?

Specifically, how much did it cost to go what distance, and was the trucker dead-heading after the delivery? Any recommendations or warnings would also be appreciated.

Thanks.
