I agree, I use a thermal blanket type thing over top of the food at all times. It keeps the cold on the food especially when the cooler isn't full. Also freezing whatever food you can before you leave helps...then jus eat it as it thaws....well cook it first

My wife and I recently acquired a 1974 Catalina 27 in pretty decent
shape.

First, any recommendations for a good swim ladder? Ours leaves a lot to
be desired.

Also, I noticed on an overnight last summer that ice stored in the ice
bin did not last very long at all.  Is there a way to better insulate
it?
