Hi Mike,
I was using a fine rubbing compound and elbow grease to clean my rail (20 years old). But this year the shrink wrap left a residue on the rail that more a aggressive compound could not get off. I was successful using Armorall Original with a 3M heavy duty green pad (grocery store variety). Took less elbow grease also.

Is there anything that can be done to my 30 year old c-27's ugly brown rub rail to get it looking better?(short of replacing it) I have tried several cleaners and much elbow grease and nothing touches it.
