oh, and btw, I have it on good authority that you are not supposed to
remove EVERY reference
to the vessel's prior name. You are supposed to leave one (1) thing.
That is to show respect for the
benevolent treatment the vessel has been granted prior to your receiving
ownership.
It should be something that is stowed away and it should not float or be
capable of salvage
is the vessel should founder (or is it flounder....) this is to prevent
any mistaken identity
should the vessel f(l)ounder. A page torn from a prior log is a good
example.
Local variations may exist, but on the Chesapeake this is how we do it
and if you
dont you will die.
