Jim,
I have an article on doing the job stashed away somewhere. If I remember correctly the whole cabinet comes out and you'll need a friend to help wrestle with it. I'd recommend you find a source of Dow SquareEdge extruded Styrofoam. You'll have to look at an insulation wholesaler but Dow website has a find a distributor tool. I can tell you exactly where to get in Oakland and Sacramento. The other thing you'll want is a space blanket. It will block 80% of the radiant heat trying to fin it's way into your new insulation. Any advice on getting access to these? It looks like I have to take the whole galley cabinet out, but I wanted to confirm that. I took all the screws out that I could see holding that in, but it appears that there are more on the aft end that I am missing because that side is pretty tight yet. There is a wooden bulkhead on the forward end of the port lazerette that prevents me from getting to the aft side of the cabinet, so I am hoping the screws are all inside the cabin. The battery charger and shore power breaker and wiring is all attached to that bulkhead, so it would be a pain to remove. Any hints and tricks are appreciated.
