Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     12/7: A COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen at Marten’s 
Tract.
     12/12: 5 SHORT-EARED OWLS were found in the clear area on Van Dyne Spoor 
Road. 4 were again found on 12/14.


Oswego County
------------

     12/7: At the end of Rainbow Shores Road on Lake Ontario the following 
waterfowl were found. 64 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 16 BLACK SCOTERS, 7 KING EIDERS 
and a large group of LONG-TAILED DUCKS. On 12/13 3 SURF SCOTERS joined the mix 
and on 12/14 all species were seen although numbers fluctuate.
     12/12: A FOX SPARROW was seen at a feeder in Hastings and a lone RED 
CROSSBILL was found on Tryon Road near Sandy Pond.


Oneida County
------------

     12/8: A MERLIN was observed chasing Horned Larks on Mapledale Road near 
Bridgewater.
     12/14: A GLAUCOUS GULL and an ICELAND GULL were found on Oneida Lake at 
the east end of the lake near Oneida Creek.


Onondaga County
------------

     12/11: A GOLDENEYE with markings of a possible Barrow’s female or juvenile 
male was seen near Boysen Bay on Oneida Lake. TUNDRA SWANS and BONAPARTE’S 
GULLS are still being seen at various points on Oneida Lake.
     12/13: A NORTHERN HARRIER was seen near Tully.


Cayuga County
------------

     12/13: 20 species of waterfowl including BLACK and WHITE-WINGED SCOTER 
were seen at Fair Haven State Park.


Madison County
------------

     12/11: On Woodman Pond and other still ice free ponds up to 16 species of 
waterfowl were seen including 2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS.


Herkimer County
------------

     12/11: 36 plus PINE SISKINS were seen at a feeder in Thendara.


Extralimital
------------

     A SUMMER TANAGER identified as an adult female has been coming to a 
feeding station in Spencerport, Monroe County. It was first reported on 12/9 
and was seen consistently up to 12/12. There have been no reports, positive or 
negative, since. Should the bird show up again the address is 516 Colby Street. 
The homeowners have been very welcoming to visiting birders as long as they 
park on the road.
