2010

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

6/7: A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen at the visitors center this day and the
next. It then disappered from the visitors center but was relocated on 6/11 at
Knox-Marcellus Marsh. It has not been reported since.
6/8: 2 SANDHILL CRANES and 5 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were seen in
Knox-Marcellus Marsh from East Road.
6/9: A SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER were seen from
the Wildlife Drive.
6/10: 2 adult and 2 young SANDHILL CRANES were seen on Carncross Road.
6/11: 2 RUDDY TURNSTONES and the afore mentioned HUDSONIAN GODWIT were
seen in Knox-Marcellus Marsh.
Onondaga County
------------
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW is still present as of 6/13 at the corner of Smokey
Hollow Road and Kellog Road in Three Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville.
6/13: A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was found on Nine Mile Creek in the gorge
between Marcellus and Camillus. It is being seen on the downstream side of the
second bridge past Foreward Road going toward Marcellus.
Oswego County
------------
6/13: A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was found at the intersection of French
Street and Baratier Road in Hastings. It was located in the north-west corner.
Extralimital
------------
As of 6/13 there is now a pair of adult MISSISSIPPI KITES at the Town of
Root location. The pair were photographed on Mapleton Road opposite mailbox
number 950.
