SANDHILL CRANE BAIRD’S SANDPIPER STILT SANDPIPER SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER WILSON’S PHALAROPE BLACK TERN PROTHONOTARY WARBLER Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC) ------------ 7/12: A good collection of Shorebirds continued this week at Knox-Marsellus and Puddler’s Marsh. Seen were KILLDEER, SPOTTED SANDPIPER, GREATER and LESSER YELLOWLEGS, LEAST SANDPIPER, BAIRD’S SANDPIPER, STILT SANDPIPER, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and WILSON’S PHALAROPE. Missing from last week were Dunlin, Sanderling and Black-bellied Plover. Also seen were BLACK TERNS. The Wilson’s Phalarope was relocated on the 13th. but has not been reported since. 7/16: One adult and one fledgling PROTHONOTARY WARBLER were seen on Armitage Road just sest of the canal bridge. Onondaga County ------------ 7/16: A female BUFFLEHEAD was seen on Skaneteles Lake. 7/18: Low water at Dead Creek by the Town of Van Buren Transportation Department has lured some Shorebirds.
