Knox-Marsellus is still the hot place to go, but Tschache Pool had some nice
views (Eagles, Osprey, Willow Flycatcher family, etc.) The Am White Pelican is
still around the east end of the first pond. A few (3 or 4) Phalaropes
(Red-necked?) are also towards the NW corner in the little "inlets". A juvy
Peregrine was flying around, as well as juvy eagles. Lots of semi-palmated
plovers, a couple bb plovers in breeding plumage, and many, many peeps.
Hummingbird, cedar waxwings, Baltimore orioles, yellow warblers along towpath
rd. (also had a juvy Wilson's warbler about a week ago). Almost forgot to
mention, 5 Sandhill cranes in the middle of the pool Friday night.
The pair of red-headed woodpeckers on S. May's Point Road (deadwood section
across from fishing access) are really active, offering great views.
