Greetings: This is the Syracuse Rare Bird Alert for the week of September 26, 
2015.
Highlights--------------
RED-NECKED GREBEBROWN BOOBY (Extralimital)AMERICAN BITTERNCACKLING GOOSERUDDY

DOWITCHERGRAY-CHEEKED THRUSHORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERPHILADELPHIA VIREOLAPLAND 
LONGSPUR
Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)------------  
     16 species of Shorebirds were reported at the complex this week. All were 
seen either at the Visitor’s Center or along the Wildlife Trail. A lesser 
number of species were seen at the Morgan Road Marsh but no different species 
were seen.Highlights were continuing BAIRD’S SANDPIPER, LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER 
and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER at the Visitor’s Center and an AMERICAN GOLDEN 
PLOVER along the Wildlife Drive.     9/28: A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was seen on 
Eskerbrook Trail.     10/2: A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was a flyover at the Visitor’s 
Center. A TRUMPETER SWAN was seen at VanDyne Spoor Road Two Trumpeters were 
seen from Morgan Road.

Cayuga County------------
     9/28: A RUDDY TURNSTONE, 3 SANDERLINGS and 3 3 DUNLIN were seen along the 
breakwall at Fair Haven State Park.

Onondaga County------------
     10/1: A GTAY-CHEEKED THRUSH and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were found at 
Three Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville.     10/2: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was 
seen along the Seneca River where the Oneida River joins to form the Oswego 
River. An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was again found at Three Rivers WMA.     10/3: 
An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was again seen Three Rivers WMA.

Oswego County------------
     10/2: A late AMERICAN BITTERN was seen at Deer Creek Marsh north of Port 
Ontario.

Madison County------------  
     10/2: A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was seen at Woodman Pond.

Oneida County------------
     9/26: A CACKLING GOOSE was found at the Verona Swamp on Rt.31 west of Rt. 
365.     10/3: A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was seen at the Spring Farm Nature 
Sanctuary south of Clinton. 

Herkimer county------------
     9/27: An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at a private Residence north of 
Dolgeville.

Extralimital------------
     The last sighting of the BROWN BOOBY was on 9/30. It was seen on Bouy #50 
from Town Line Road (private) in Cayuga County.
