July 21, 2020

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     7/21: A CERULEAN WARBLER was found on Howland Island.

     7/24: A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was found on the Wildlife Drive.

     7/26: 2 female RUDDY DUCKS were seen along the Wildlife Drive. 3 
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS were seen at Mays Point Pool.3 STILT SANDPIPERS and 4 
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen from East road. 10 shorebird species 
inclucing 3 STILT SANDPIPERS were seen at Carncross Road.

     7/26: A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen at the Visitor’s Center. 7 
Shorebird species including a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were found at Carncross 
Road.







Onondaga County

------------




     SEDGE WRENS, 3 or more, are still being heard and occasionally seen in the 
big fields area of 3 Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville on a regular basis. 

     RED CROSSBILLS continue at Shakham Road and Morgan Hill Forest. Some were 
seen at the four corners parking area.

     7/22: A SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPER was seen at the West Shore Trail of 
Onondaga Lake. It was seen again on the 26th. an AMERICAN WIGEON was also seen  
at this area. 

     7/24: A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen at Cedar Bay Park in Fayetteville.

     7/25: A MERLIN was seen on Fawn Ridge Road in Manlius.







Oswego County

------------




     1 fledgling PIPING PLOVER continues to be spotted at the Sandy Pond outlet 
on Lake Ontario.

     7/23: A PINE SISKIN was seen at a feeder on Hinman Road north of Pulaski.

     7/25: A SANDERLING was seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet on lake Ontario.







Madison County

     7/22: 2 adults and 1 fledgling MERLINS were seen on Elizabeth Street in 
Oneida.







Oneida County

------------




     7/21: A BONAPARTE’S GULL was seen at Delta Lake in Rome.

     7/22: 2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS continue at Verona Beach State Park on 
Oneida Lake. They were seen again on the 27th.

     7/23: An UPLAND SANDPIPER was seen on North Gage Road south of Poland.







Herkimer County

------------




     7/22: A GREAT EGRET was spotted near the Frankfort Marina on the Mohawk 
River.

     7/24: A PEREGRINE FALCON continues in Little Falls.
