Greetings. This is the Syracuse Area Rare Bird Alert for the week of 

November 07, 2022

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     11/10: A CATTLE EGRET was again seen in the flooded fields on Armitage 
Road.

     11/13: 187 SANDHILL CRANES were counted from East Road in Knox-Marsellus 
Marsh. Also seen were 2 CACKLING GEESE.







Cayuga county

------------




     11/9: A RED-THROATED LOON, 2 EVENING GROSBEAKS and 64 SNOW BUNTINGS were 
all seen at Fair Haven State Park.







Oswego County

------------




     11/8: 2 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in Pennelville.

     11/9: 3 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in Williamsville and were seen there 
the next day.

     11/14: 3 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in Oswego.







Onondaga County

------------




     11/8: A CACKLING GOOSE was seen at Joseph William Park on Oneida Lake. 2 
CACKLING GEESE were seen in Old Fly Marsh south of Pompey.

     11/10: 13 RED CROSSBILLS were found on Shakham Road in the Morgan Hill 
State Forest.

     11/11: A RED-NECKED GREBE was seen fro Lakeview Point on the West Shore 
Trail of Onondaga Lake.

     11/12: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Rowley-Jerome Road north of Fabius.

     11/13: A GOLDEN EAGLE wa seen in flight at Jamesville Beach county Park. 
an EVENING GROSBEAK was at a feeder in Baldwinsville.







Madison county

     11/8: EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at a feeder on Eaton Reservoir and were 
present through today.







Oneida County

------------




     11/12: 2 PINE SISKINS were seen in Remsen.







Herkimer County

------------




     11/9: A BLACK VULTURE was seen in Ilion.

     11/11: 4 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at a feeder in Dolgeville.

     11/12: A RED CROSSBILL was heard in flight in the Black River Wild Forest 
north of Forestport.
