You have two options to "simulate the proctor" during studies:

1) refer to the hints in the proctor guide. I use the proctor guide  
when I study as opposed to the questions only book. I scroll so I see  
the entire question, read it and do it if I can. If I get stuck I  
scroll further and read the hints. If I'm really stuck I'll scroll and  
look at the answer to try and figure out what is being asked.

2) attend a bootcamp with an instructor you can ask questions of
