Hi, The PDF file you refer to is a good start but two main steps are missing :
ephone-dn creation ephone configuration Here are some simple explanations for ephone-dn creation : ephone-dn 1 dual-line ! Enters ephone-dn configuration mode to create a directory number. Enables two calls per directory number. number 1001 ! Assigns directory number. And now some explanations for ephone configuration : ephone 1 ! Enters ephone configuration mode. mac-address HHHH.HHHH.HHHH ! Specifies the MAC address of the IP phone that is being configured. type 7921 ! Specifies the type of phone. button 1:1 ! Associates a button number and line characteristics with an extension (ephone-dn) To change the phone IP parameters, on the phone issue : Settings Network settings !unlock the configuration by pressing **#, the lock in the upper right corner of the screen should open ipv4 settings HTH Funkychild Date: Sat, 10 May 2014 23:41:28 +0200 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] CC: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Wireless] Cisco CME router installation Hi Jeff, Thanks for your answer. I was able to achieve the 1st part of the configuration in my lab. I already had a 2851 as a GW. I had to change the code to 12.4(24)T ADVIPSERVICES, and my CME is now running and configured. I have transferred the firmware files for my 2 phones (7960 and 7925) as described here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-express/68244-PhoneLoadUpgradeCCME.html My 7960 phone which is currently connected to my lab doesn't get an IP from my DHCP server, so I can't test further. After a SPAN on the phone port, I can see it is already configured with a static IP address (from a previous lab from one of my colleagues I think). I won't have a physical access to the lab until monday, so that's all I can do for the week-end! Andre. 2014-05-10 23:28 GMT+02:00 Jeff Rensink <[email protected]>: I think your cheapest option would be a 2811. You may have to drop back to an earlier version of CME. But that's what I use in my little personal lab with a 7925 and a real basic wired phone. If you go with the 2900 series, then you need to buy a voice license. The 2800 series doesn't require that. I found this documentation:http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme91spc.html I can get any of the supported routers in this list, so it shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone can say me if I need other modules or maybe licences to make it run? Also, do you have any documentation for basic configuration? I found this pdf, but not sure this is enough to have my 2 phones working: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/servlet/JiveServlet/previewBody/6346-102-1-20737/CCNA-Voice%20VoIP.pdf Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Andre. _______________________________________________ Free CCIE R&S, Collaboration, Data Center, Wireless & Security Videos :: iPexpert on YouTube: www.youtube.com/ipexpertinc _______________________________________________ Free CCIE R&S, Collaboration, Data Center, Wireless & Security Videos :: iPexpert on YouTube: www.youtube.com/ipexpertinc
