Hi Flip, this sounds like the dreaded OOM (out-of-memory) killer at work! Though on checking the VM requirements of refmac5 in v6 on my system (SuSE 9.1) I see it's a modest 340 Mb, so unless your memory (incl swap) is already full to the brim (i.e. < 340 Mb free), it's unlikely to be the explanation, unless possibly you have a memory leak. What's your total free memory before starting refmac (e.g. add up the numbers from the 'top' output). -- Ian > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Flip Hoedemaeker > Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 9:26 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [ccp4bb]: Refmac problems in 6.0.1 > > *** For details on how to be removed from this list visit the *** > *** CCP4 home page http://www.ccp4.ac.uk *** > > > Dear All, > > I've installed CCP4 6.0.1 through the default install script > on my Linux box > (Mandrake 10.1).
